The Tennessee Vols made a huge splash on the recruiting trail on Thursday by flipping 2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys from the LSU Tigers.

Keys, 6-foot-3, 180 pounds from Hattiesburg, MS, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 4 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The five-star wide receiver had been committed to LSU since March before flipping his commitment to Tennessee.

One of the biggest beneficiaries of Keys’ decision to change his commitment is 2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, a Vols commit for over a year.

Brandon, who is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, took to Twitter/X.com to react to the news of Keys’ commitment to Tennessee.

“We’re going to bring a VERY electric and fun offense to watch,” said Brandon to On3 after Keys announced his commitment to Tennessee.

Brandon is clearly excited about the addition of Keys. And he should be — Keys is a dynamic pass-catcher who has the potential to be one of the top wide receivers in college football. Brandon will love throwing the ball to Keys in Neyland Stadium on Saturdays.

Keys, by the way, also took to social media to react to his commitment to the Vols, posting a video of fellow 2026 Vols wide receiver commit Tyreek King with the caption “WRU loading”.

It wasn’t that long ago that Tennessee was considered “WRU.” With talent like Keys and King on the way — plus the guys who are already on the roster like Mike Matthews, Braylon Staley, and Travis Smith (among several others) — it may not be long before the Vols regain that moniker.
