It's been nearly six years since former Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones said his team had won the "championship of life" after falling short in the SEC East division race in 2016.
That quote, however, will live with Jones forever (as it should…it was an untimely quote that showed a shocking lack of self-awareness from Jones).
Baylor head coach Scott Drew sounded a lot like Jones on Saturday after the Bears lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Drew said after the game that Baylor may not have won on the court, but his team had won in life.
That's not quite as bad as Jones' "championship of life" quote, but it's not far off.
Of course, Drew will get a little more leeway than Jones — as he should. Drew led Baylor to a national championship last year.
Jones, on the other hand, never managed to deliver a real championship to Rocky Top.
