One big name has been ruled out in the Alabama Crimson Tide's search to replace legendary head coach Nick Saban.

Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning, a popular name on early Alabama hot boards, announced via a post on social media on Thursday that he's not leaving Eugene.

"The grass is not always greener," said Lanning in the video he tweeted. "In fact, the grass is damn green in Eugene."

Lanning would've seemingly been a perfect fit for Alabama. He was a graduate assistant under Saban for one season at Alabama. And he spent four seasons on Kirby Smart's staff at Georgia.
