CBS Sports college football analyst Adam Breneman revealed his College Football Playoff bracket prediction and he has a dream scenario playing out for the Tennessee Vols.
Breneman's bracket prediction is based on what he thinks will happen during the upcoming conference championship weekend. He has Penn State beating Oregon in the Big 10 Championship and Texas beating Georgia in the SEC Championship.
The CBS Sports analyst has Oregon falling to the No. 5 seed and Georgia falling to the No. 10 seed as a result.
Breneman has Tennessee hosting a playoff game against Indiana in the first round. If the Vols win that matchup, they would then face No. 1 seeded Penn State in the quarterfinals. If Tennessee wins both of those games, they'd face either Boise State, Oregon, or South Carolina in the semifinals.
I don't think there's going to be any "easy" paths in the College Football Playoff. But this would certainly be a favorable path for the Vols. Hosting a home playoff game against a questionable Indiana team and then playing a questionable Penn State team (though maybe not so questionable if they beat Oregon) in a neutral site game is about as favorable as it can get for Tennessee.
We'll get a better idea on Tuesday night — when the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings are revealed — of which scenarios will be in play for Tennessee.
