ESPN's Cole Cubelic offered a significant amount of praise for the Tennessee Vols offensive line's performance in UT's 36-23 win against the Vanderbilt Commodores last weekend.
Cubelic suggested during The Cube Show that Tennessee's offensive line "showed up to kick somebody's ass" in the win against Vanderbilt.
"I don't know what was said, I don't know what somebody did," said Cubelic. "I don't know what pictures were shown, I don't know who said what about who's mama, but the Tennessee offensive line showed up to kick somebody's ass in this game.
"They wanted it and they got it. John Campbell, nasty. (Javontez) Spraggins, nasty. (Lance) Heard, nasty. (Cooper) Mays, nasty. I'm talking bodies on the floor, cockroaches — cockroaches, if you don't know, you get a defender on his back and his arms and legs are sticking up in the air like a dead cockroach. They had pancakes, cockroaches, knockdowns, roll-ups, all of it. They played angry and it showed."
Tennessee's offensive line allowed zero sacks in the win against Vanderbilt. That elite protection is a big reason why redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava was able to enjoy one of his best games of the season.
The Vols' offensive line will need to bring that same kind of attitude/energy to the field in the College Football Playoff if Tennessee is going to have a legit chance to make some noise in the postseason.
