ESPN thinks the Tennessee Vols will receive a commitment from a key 2024 recruit this week.

Four-star wide receiver Braylon Staley is set to announce his commitment on Friday.

Staley, 6-foot/180 lbs from Aiken, SC, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 22 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in state of South Carolina.

ESPN predicted on Monday that Staley will commit to Tennessee on Friday over Clemson, Miami, and North Carolina.

From ESPN: Staley, who will announce his decision on Friday, took his official visit to North Carolina this past weekend, which could help vault the Tar Heels ahead in the race for his commitment.

However, Staley has mentioned Tennessee quite a bit in his recruitment, and it seems the Vols could come out on top if North Carolina couldn't seal it with his visit.

Tennessee's offense has shown it can be effective and produce under coach Josh Heupel, and that is appealing to receivers. The staff signed the No. 4 quarterback in the 2023 class, Nico Iamaleava, along with two ESPN 300 receivers. Adding Staley would give the staff another really good option in the offense.

Staley, who can line up practically anywhere on the field (making him a perfect fit for Tennessee's offense), told 247Sports recently that he "loves" the Vols' offense under Josh Heupel.

It feels like Tennessee has created some real momentum in this recruiting battle. Landing a commitment from Staley would be a nice get for the Vols after losing a commitment from four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell (now committed to Mississippi State) earlier this spring.
