Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart is famous for using slights from the media (perceived or real) as motivation for his team.
Earlier this season, after Georgia's win over Texas, Smart brought up ESPN doubting the Bulldogs during his post-game interview.
"Nobody believed, nobody gave us a chance," said Smart after the win against Texas. "Your whole network (ESPN) doubted us."
Not many folks are doubting Georgia ahead of their matchup with the Tennessee Vols this weekend.
ESPN's Rece Davis, one of the faces of college football, picked Georgia to beat Tennessee in Athens on Saturday night.
"The average margin of victory for Georgia over Tennessee (during the Josh Heupel era) has been four touchdowns," said Davis. "It won't be that on Saturday night, but give me the Dogs. I'm taking Georgia again. I don't think they'll fail to respond with their backs against the wall like this. And I think Georgia will win the game."
Smart won't be able to use the "ESPN doubted us" line with his team after that prediction from Davis, which should be a big benefit to the Vols.
By the way, Davis is far from the only person in the nation media picking Georgia to win this game. 247Sports also picked the Bulldogs. Fox Sports' Joel Klatt picked Georgia to win as well.
Smart will have to dig a little deeper for media provided motivation this week.
