The College Football Playoff picture will become clearer after this weekend's matchup between the Tennessee Vols and the Georgia Bulldogs.

If Tennessee wins, they'll have a favorable path to the SEC Championship game, where they could potentially lock up a first round bye. If Georgia wins, they'll be right back in the playoff picture after falling out this week following their loss to the Ole Miss Rebels.

The Vols haven't won a game in Athens since 2016 when Josh Dobbs connected with Jauan Jennings on a Hail Mary as time expired, securing a 34-31 win for Tennessee.

On Wednesday, 247Sports' Brad Crawford and Chris Hummer made their predictions for the game and they both have Georgia continuing their winning streak against Tennessee.

Crawford has Georgia winning 24-17 while Hummer has the Bulldogs winning 27-20.

From 247Sports: Hummer:These are two flawed contenders. Georgia is a turnover machine – 15 on the season – without the elite talent you're used to along the interior of both lines of scrimmage. Tennessee, for its part, is an elite defense and run game with an inconsistent at best passing attack. I think the line for Georgia is way too high. Tennessee's defense narrows the margins in every game it plays. That said, I'm not picking against Georgia at home, especially coming off a loss. The Bulldogs are the closest thing we have to a modern dynasty, and they'll win when they must. … Georgia 27, Tennessee 20.

Crawford: Neither of these teams is the SEC's best heading into Week 12. That's pure opinion, but I think both have weaknesses that must be corrected before the first round of the College Football Playoff. That should tell you where I think these squads stand. Georgia plays much better at home and Tennessee is night and day in home-road splits, comparatively. Georgia wins as long as Carson Beck doesn't turn it over three times. … Georgia 24, Tennessee 17.

Crawford's comment that neither of these teams are the SEC's best is a bit misguided. Tennessee, after all, is currently leading the SEC standings. And they have one of the best wins in the conference (against Alabama). Who would Crawford have over the Vols? A Texas team that's best win is against Vanderbilt?

Quite honestly, I don't think there is a best team in the SEC right now. I think we need more information to answer that question without bias.

Either way, it's clear based on these predictions that not everyone in the nation is doubting Georgia, so that's one less piece of ammo that Smart will have this week to motivate his team (unless he just straight up lies to them….which he's done before).
