The hype is at an impressive level for the Tennessee Vols offense in 2022. Many think it could contend as the best unit in the SEC. Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Greg McElroy certainly has confidence in QB Hendon Hooker and the Vols offense under head coach Josh Heupel.

McElroy has a lot of faith in the talent that Heupel has put together in Knoxville. The former Alabama QB believes that Hooker can sustain the success he began to have in the second half of last season for the Vols. The continuity could play a big role in the offense's overall success.

He also points out how well Hooker took care of the ball last season. That is vital to any offense, but especially Josh Heupel's. Remaining efficient and trustworthy is key. Not to mention, Hooker began to find more success pushing the ball downfield. He has some talented weapons to find on deep routes again this year in Cedric Tillman, Jalin Hyatt, Ramel Keyton, and others. McElroy expects Hooker to take another massive leap this season for the Vols.

McElroy is not concerned with the passing game for the Vols. He does think there is a lot of room to improve in the running game, though. That is something to keep an eye on as this Vols offense looks to continue to develop.
