USF announced on Friday that defensive back De'Shawn Rucker is one of the program's five team captains for this weekend.

Rucker, who is from Florida, is a former three-star recruit who signed with the Vols during the 2021 recruiting cycle. He played in 24 games for Tennessee from 2021 to 2023, totaling 14 tackles and one pass defensed.

So far this season, Rucker has totaled 13 tackles for USF (second on the team) to go along with one tackle for loss and one pass defensed.

USF and Southern Miss will kick off at 7:00 PM ET on Saturday night in Hattiesburg.
