Former Tennessee Vols standout Jeremy Banks is in the market for a new gig in the NFL.
Banks, who was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent earlier this spring, was waived on Monday.
The Buccaneers' training camp officially starts on Tuesday (rookies reported on Monday), so this probably isn't a good sign for Banks' pro career.
Banks was probably never going to be more than a special teams contributor for the Bucs, but it looks like he might have trouble being a contributor at all for an NFL franchise.
The former Vol has good speed. And he tested well at the NFL Draft combine earlier this offseason. He's had some off-the-field issues in the past, but it's unclear if that contributed to his release from Tampa.
Banks spent five seasons with the Vols, totaling 219 tackles, 5.5 sacks and three interceptions.
