A former Tennessee Vols quarterback could land in Boulder with Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.
According to a report from 247Sports' Matt Zenitz, Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter, who recently entered the NCAA transfer portal, is planning to take a visit to Colorado.
Salter, who spent the last four seasons at Liberty, signed with Tennessee as a four-star recruit out of high school. He spent six months at Tennessee before getting dismissed from the program in 2021 due to a couple of off-the-field incidents.
According to Zenitz, Salter is also planning to visit Syracuse and Florida State (the Syracuse visit is set for this week).
Salter was a dynamic player for Liberty, especially in 2023 when he passed for 2,876 yards and 32 touchdowns while rushing for 1,089 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Colorado is losing starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders after the 2024 season. Shedeur, who has been one of the top players in the nation during his time in Boulder, will join Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Salter could be the next man up for Coach Prime if he chooses to transfer to Colorado. Salter certainly has the skill set to excel in the Buffaloes' offense.
No one will admit it, but it feels obvious why the Tennessee Vols didn’t get a home playoff game
Rough outcome for the Vols
