Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton received a cool honor this week from New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo.
On Wednesday, Mayo, who is also a former Vol, named Milton as one of the Patriots' practice players of the week.
New England's practice players of the week wear a black jersey in practice after earning the honor.
The practice player of the week honor was started by former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and it's being continued by Mayo (after wins).
Milton, a sixth round selection by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft, is currently the No. 3 quarterback on New England's depth chart behind Jacoby Brissett and fellow rookie Drake Maye.
It's not a surprise to hear that Milton is working hard at practice despite being No. 3 on the depth chart. After all, he operated as Hendon Hooker's backup for nearly two full seasons at Tennessee and he was consistently praised for his preparation and for being a good teammate despite serving as the Vols' No. 2 quarterback.
