A former Tennessee Vols quarterback reportedly interviewed for an NFL offensive coordinator job this week.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, former Volunteers quarterback Bo Hardegree interviewed for the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator job.

Hardegree is currently the Tennessee Titans' quarterbacks coach.

Chicago recently hired Ben Johnson, who was previously the Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator, as the franchise's new head coach.

Hardegree, who was an offensive assistant with the Bears in 2015, was on the Miami Dolphins' coaching staff for three seasons (2016 to 2018) with Johnson.

Hardegree, who also played tennis at Tennessee, played for the Vols from 2004 to 2007.

He started his coaching career at Duke in 2008 under David Cutlciffe (Cutcliffe was the offensive coordinator at Tennessee during Hardegree's final two seasons).

Landing with the Bears as the team's offensive coordinator would obviously be a big promotion for Hardegree, but Johnson will likely be the primary play-caller in Chicago.
