A former Tennessee Vols player who left the program after the 2020 season (just before Jeremy Pruitt was fired) was injured this past weekend while participating in the 2023 NFL Draft combine.

Offensive lineman Wanya Morris suffered a hamstring injury while running the 40-yard dash on Sunday.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Morris suffered a grade two strain. The recovery time for that injury is 3-4 weeks which means it's unclear if he'll participate in his Pro Day workout. Rapoport, however, noted that Morris is expected to be ready for private workouts with teams in April ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Morris has been going in the middle rounds in recent mock drafts.

The Georgia native transferred to Oklahoma after the 2020 season. He was one of three Vols who left Knoxville for Norman (defensive back Key Lawrence and running back Eric Gray were the other two).

While Morris left the Vols during a tough time for the program, he still has plenty of love for Tennessee.

During the Senior Bowl last month, Morris was spotted wearing an Oklahoma helmet with a massive Power T on the back.

Every player has a unique reason for transferring. And we don't know what all went into Morris' decision to leave Tennessee — it's best not to speculate.

But whatever the reason, it's clear he still has plenty of love for the Vols.
