The Georgia Bulldogs may have jinxed themselves on Monday evening by channeling their inner Butch Jones during their comeback attempt against NC State in game three of the Athens Super Regional.

Georgia came up just short of a trip to Omaha thanks to their 8-5 loss to NC State on Monday.

The Bulldogs attempted to mount a comeback after NC State went up 5-1 in the sixth inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Georgia cut the lead to 6-4 via an RBI groundout.

Georgia's official Twitter/X.com account tweeted a video of the RBI groundout with the caption "Brick by brick".

"Brick by brick" was one of former Tennessee head football coach Butch Jones' favorite sayings. During his time in Knoxville, it was plastered everywhere. And it became a punchline after the program took a nose dive in 2017.

Several fans immediately responded to the Georgia account by pointing out that the tweet had "Butch Jones vibes".

Georgia was outscored 2-1 after that tweet, eventually losing 8-5.

I'm not saying the tweet is why the Bulldogs lost — obviously tweets don't win or lose games — but channeling Butch Jones is almost always a bad idea.

Brick-by-brick feels like instantly bad karma for any college program after Jones ruined the once harmless phrase.
