Giants.com reporter John Schmeelk made quite the prediction this week for former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt.

Hyatt, who was selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, is hoping to prove during training camp that he can be a reliable option in the passing game for quarterback Daniel Jones.

Schmeelk, who was asked this week to make some bold predictions for the Giants during training camp, thinks that's exactly what Hyatt will do this summer.

The Giants.com reporter's bold prediction for Hyatt is that the former Vol will look like a "future star" during training camp and make some big catches during New York's three preseason games.

"Jalin Hyatt, however, looks like a future star in practice, running past defenders as a constant deep threat down the field for Daniel Jones. In preseason games, he has three touchdowns of 30 or more yards," predicted Schmeelk

The Giants' wide receivers room is a bit crowded as training camp opens this week (especially after New York recently signed veteran Cole Beasley), but Hyatt has the skills to separate himself from the others and carve out a key role in the offense.

Of course, for that to happen, Schmeelk will likely need to nail his prediction for Hyatt.

The next few weeks will be huge for Hyatt when it comes to proving that he should be one of the Giants' top options at wide receiver to start the 2023 season.
