Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is hoping to make an impact in the NFL as a rookie.

Hyatt, a third-round selection by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, is already working hard to dispel some of the narratives that surrounded him during the pre-draft process.

The South Carolina native was criticized leading up to the draft for his thin frame and his route-running abilities (the route-running stuff only popped up because of the offense he played in at Tennessee, not because of actual evaluations of Hyatt's route-running abilities).

So far, Hyatt is proving to be a true professional. He's worked hard, he's done everything that's been asked of him, and he's even stayed late after practices to get in extra work with Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones.

According to Giants.com writer Matt Citak, Hyatt is one of the Giants players that's turning heads during OTAs/minicamps.

"As for Hyatt, the rookie receiver has flashed the speed and strong hands that helped him take home last year's Biletnikoff Award," wrote Citak this week. "The speedster has made several nice catches during team drills, both from short and long range, and has looked crisp with his route-running."

Hyatt obviously has to keep it going through training camp and into the preseason, but it looks like he's poised to play a key role as a rookie for the Giants in 2023.
