Halloween may be over, but the Jeremy Pruitt era continued to haunt the Tennessee Vols once again this weekend.

The top-ranked Vols lost to the Georgia Bulldogs by a score of 27-13.

The offense struggled against the Bulldogs' impressive defense. On the flip-side, the Georgia offense consistently got explosive plays from their passing game.

Wide receiver Ladd McConkey was their leading receiver.

He has quite the history with the Vols.

McConkey had a 37-yard touchdown grab near the end of the first quarter to give Georgia a 14-3 lead. They never looked back from there.

That was one of a handful of backbreaking deep shots given up by the Vols.

The fact that McConkey was a Vols' fan growing up makes his performance even tougher to swallow. Jeremy Pruitt and company probably could have gotten him on campus.

At the very least, they probably should have tried a bit harder. He would have been a fun weapon on offense for the Vols.

Can you imagine if you were in his shoes as a high school player, and the Vols came knocking? Instead, they didn't.

Then, he made them pay for it in the biggest game of the college football season so far.

Jim Chaney and the previous regime strike against Tennessee once again.

Luckily, it looks like Josh Heupel and his staff won't make those same type of mistakes going forward.

McConkey had some extra motivation against the Vols, and it came back to bite them in their loss versus Georgia.
