The Tennessee Vols and the Vanderbilt Commodores were already going to have a tense weekend series.
But things were kicked up a notch on Friday night when Vanderbilt asked for Jordan Beck's bat to be checked after a first-inning home run.
The bat was deemed illegal due to not having the proper inspection sticker. The home run was taken off the board and Beck was called out.
Vols head coach Tony Vitello was understandably furious.
After the game (which Tennessee won 6-2), Beck made it clear that there's no love lost between the Vols and the Commodores.
"I’ll go ahead and tell you, we don’t like this team very much," said Beck.
The Vols and Vandy play two more games this weekend. And judging by what we saw on Friday night, there are sure to be plenty of fireworks.
