The Tennessee Vols' most important commit to their 2026 recruiting class is easily five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon.

Brandon, 6-foot-4/197 lbs from Greensboro, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The North Carolina native, who is from the same town as former Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker, has been committed to Tennessee since early August.

Brandon recently told ESPN that he tells other schools that reach out that he's "locked in" with Tennessee.

"You never know what can happen so I'll talk to them but they know I'm locked in with Tennessee," said Brandon to ESPN. "They're just checking up. I'm not in contact with any other programs."

Brandon is the top recruit in the nation, so it's unlikely that the calls from other programs stop anytime soon. Tennessee will need to continue to put the full-court press on the talented quarterback even though he's "locked in" with the Vols. The last thing that Tennessee wants is to lose Brandon late in this recruiting cycle to another program.
