Former Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones was fired by UT in late 2017 after struggling to follow up back-to-back nine wins seasons with another winning season.

With the Vols' roster devoid of elite talent in 2017 (thanks in part to some early departures), Jones managed only four wins before getting fired with two games left in the regular season.

It was an unceremonious ending of an era of Tennessee football that once looked promising.

Despite Jones' tough final season in Knoxville, it appears he still has some love for Tennessee.

A video of a recent interview with Jones in his office (via KAIT) revealed a Power T sitting on the shelf behind Jones' desk.

(It looks like the Power T is made to be shaped like the state of Tennessee.)

The Jones era didn't go how Butch envisioned — though he had a few great moments (like beating Florida and Georgia). But it was still one of the better post-Fulmer eras of Vols football.

Outside of current Vols head coach Josh Heupel, Jones was UT's best coach since Phillip Fulmer retired. Unfortunately for Jones, things just didn't work out in that final year. But that doesn't change that Tennessee was a massive part of Jones' life for five years. So it's not a surprise that he still has a soft spot for the Vols.
