Anyone who watches much baseball knows that winning a championship takes contributions from every player on the roster.

A couple of star players aren't enough to carry a team to a championship in baseball.

But having those star players is still important. The more talent you have, the better your odds.

While simply having a star player won't necessarily win you a championship, losing a star player could derail your chances.

On Thursday, 247Sports named the most important player for each of the eight teams that reached the College World Series. And for the Tennessee Vols, they think that player is second baseman Christian Moore.

From 247Sports: Between Christian Moore, Billy Amick, Kavares Tears, Blake Burke, Drew Beam and Dylan Dreiling, among others, Tennessee has no shortage of early-round MLB Draft talents and candidates for most important player in Omaha on its No. 1-ranked roster. But it's becoming increasingly difficult to argue against Moore, who continues to boost his first-round stock. A 6-foot-1, 216-pound infielder, Moore has hit safely in four of the Volunteer's six NCAA Tournament games and slugged four of his team-best 32 home runs in that stretch. He's also demonstrated improved patience at the dish, drawing nine walks in the tournament and cashing in with eight runs scored. Named a first-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Moore has been one of the top offensive second basemen in the country this year and should see that pay off at the MLB Draft in July.

Moore has been coming up clutch all season long for the Vols. Almost every big game it seems inevitable that the New York native is going to do something special to help Tennessee win.

For the Vols to advance in Omaha, they'll certainly need Moore to continue to play like a future first round MLB draft pick.
