Momentum continues to build for the Tennessee Vols in the battle for 2025 four-star wide receiver Travis Smith Jr.
Smith, 6-foot-4/199 lbs from Atlanta, GA, is set to announce his commitment on July 13.
And there's a growing feeling that Tennessee will be the choice for the nation's No. 15 wide receiver.
Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman noted on Friday that "there's a sense" that the Vols are the team to beat for Smith.
Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee are the schools in Smith's final four, but according to Spiegelman, it's a "two-horse race" between the Crimson Tide and the Volunteers.
"After four official visits last month, this has developed into a two-horse race leading into Saturday night's reveal," wrote Spiegelman. "Buzz has favored both the Tide and the Vols over the past weekend, and as a decision nears, there is a sense Tennessee will be hard to beat for Smith."
The fact that Georgia is seemingly out of the mix seems to bode well for the Vols' chances of landing Smith — especially considering his recent comments about Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
Smith is scheduled to make his announcement at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday night (July 13).
