The son of a Tennessee Vols football legend reportedly received an offer from the Oklahoma Sooners this week.

According to Rivals.com recruiting analyst Marshall Levenson, 2027 athlete Cooper Witten, the son of former Vols tight end Jason Witten, was offered by Oklahoma.

Witten, 6-foot-2/205 lbs from Argyle, TX, hasn't been rated yet by the recruiting services.

The younger Witten, who plays for his dad at Liberty High School, told Rivals.com that he's playing safety and wide receiver in high school, though he thinks his longterm position is at safety.

Witten received the offer from the Sooners after recently attending a camp at Oklahoma.

"I went to the Oklahoma camp on Saturday and it was a great experience," said Witten to Rivals.com. "I preformed really well all day and during 1-on-1's and after the camp I was going up to coach (Zac) Alley to thank him and we started to get to talking for a little and he just told me 'we really liked what we saw today and would like to offer you a scholarship'. So that's how it happened"

It's still very early in Witten's recruitment, but Tennessee should probably go ahead and jump in the mix if they hope to have a shot at landing the Vol legacy.
