2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr is the true freshman that's receiving the most hype for the Tennessee Vols heading into the 2025 season, but he's not the only true freshman could play a big role for UT this fall.

(Sanders is expected to start at right tackle for the Vols in 2025.)

247Sports recruiting analyst Greg Biggins pointed out 2025 four-star tight end Da'Saahn Brame as a true freshman that could "play early" for the Vols this fall.

"Tennessee tight end signee Da'Saahn Brame has the look of a player who can step in and play early this fall," noted Biggins. "He received a nice bump in the updated Top247 as well, moving from No. 101 to 66 overall."

From 247Sports: He (Brame) opened our eyes at the Polynesian Bowl check-in where he was a chiseled 6-foot-5, 240 pounds and really stood out in the game as well. He's a plus athlete who can run and get easy separation down the field. He has strong hands, catches the ball well through contact and then has the athleticism to get vertical and be a big play threat.

Josh Heupel and his staff have been hesitant over the last four seasons to give true freshmen pass catchers early opportunities. Brame, however, could be an exception thanks to his elite athleticism and his ability to create mismatches in the passing game (good luck covering him with a linebacker…and a safety might not stand a chance).

Brame has the potential to be a Brock Bowers/Tyler Warren type talent. And those are the types of players that can carry a team deep into the post-season.

The Vols' top two options at tight end in 2025 are expected to be Miles Kitselman and Ethan Davis. The opportunity will be there for Brame to earn some playing time, but he'll have to prove during spring practice and fall camp that he deserves to see action early in the season (Brame enrolled at Tennessee last week).

Brame isn't a player that's receiving a lot of attention this offseason, but he could be a player that helps take the Vols' offense to a new level via more involvement (and some new offensive wrinkles) from the tight ends in the passing game.
