2025 four-stat quarterback Madden Iamaleava, the younger brother of Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava, is nearing a college decision.
247Sports reported earlier this offseason that Iamaleava is expected to announce his commitment this summer.
Iamaleava, 6-foot-3/185 lbs from Downey, CA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 12 quarterback in the nation and the No. 11 player in state of California. He's also rated as the No. 106 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. He's not quite as hyped as his older brother, but he's still an elite high school player that's poised to have a great college career.
So where is the younger Iamaleava likely heading?
Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney thinks UCLA will be the pick for Iamaleava.
Nebraska is the other program in the mix for the four-star quarterback
From Rivals.com: There are two schools leading in Iamaleava’s recruitment and while both still have a very real chance to land his commitment, one could have taken the lead.
UCLA and Nebraska are the frontrunners for the very productive four-star quarterback from Downey (Calif.) Warren. But after meeting with the new Bruins staff, seeing how much NFL experience is within that group and the draw of playing right down the road for an up-and-coming program, UCLA has to like where it sits in his recruitment.
Iamaleava is not hesitant about Nebraska though. He loves the coaching staff there and the big-time Big Ten environment and is not worried about competition with five-star QB Dylan Raiola or anyone else. But it just seems his connection with UCLA remains very strong and it would be a surprise at this point if the Bruins weren’t the pick. Prediction: UCLA
Iamaleava said earlier this offseason that he grew up rooting for UCLA over USC. Considering he's from Southern California, it makes sense that he'd want to stay on the west coast and play for the Bruins.
