The Tennessee Vols are looking to take advantage of Oklahoma State’s decision earlier this week to fire longtime head coach Mike Gundy.
Gundy, who had been the head coach at Oklahoma State since 2005, was fired after the Cowboys got off to a 1-2 start this season (Oklahoma State went 3-9 last season, resulting in Gundy entering the 2025 season firmly on the hot seat).
Tennessee didn’t waste any time in going after one of Oklahoma State’s top 2026 commits.
Tennessee Vols offer 2026 four-star defensive lineman Danny Beale
Tennessee extended an offer this week to 2026 four-star defensive lineman Danny Beale.
Beale has been committed to Oklahoma State since late June.
Beale, 6-foot-4/315 lbs from Cherry Valley, AR, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Arkansas. He’s also rated as the No. 120 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Missouri and Ole Miss were strongly in the mix for Beale before he committed to Oklahoma State in June. But with Gundy getting fired and change coming to Oklahoma State, it feels like Beale’s recruitment will likely reopen soon. We’ll see if the Vols can get Beale on campus. If they do, Tennessee will have a legitimate chance to swipe the talented defensive lineman from the Cowboys.

Bailey, who played at Tennessee from 2020 to 2021, also spent one season (2022) at UNLV. I don’t normally pay close attention to uniform numbers for backup quarterbacks on random SEC teams. […]
