Former Tennessee Vols assistant coach Brian Niedermeyer landed a new job in football this week.
According to USA Today's Dan Harralson, Niedermeyer was named as the new head coach at Tuscaloosa County High School this week.
Niedermeyer, who served as a tight ends coach/linebackers coach at Tennessee from 2018 to 2020, was one of the Vols assistant coaches that was involved in the recruiting scandal that cost Jeremy Pruitt his job as UT's head coach in early 2021. Niedermeyer was fired for cause by Tennessee as a result of the recruiting scandal.
The Alaska native spent last season as the defensive coordinator at Tuscaloosa.
Niedermeyer also spent time as the defensive coordinator at IMG Academy after he was fired by Tennessee.
In 2022, when Niedermeyer was on staff at IMG, he tweeted "you love to see it" in response to five-star wide receiver Carnell Tate committing to Ohio State over Tennessee.
I doubt Niedermeyer will be guiding any players from Tuscaloosa County High School to Tennessee now that he's the school's head football coach.
