It's been a big week for the Tennessee Vols basketball program.
And it sounds like it's about to get even better.
On Thursday, On3's Jamie Shaw predicted that Tennessee will land North Florida transfer guard Chaz Lanier.
Lanier, 6-foot-4 from Nashville, TN, entered the NCAA transfer portal this week after averaging 19.7 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game this past season. He also shot 44 percent from beyond the arc, making 106 three-pointers in 2023-24.
If the Vols land Lanier, he'll join a transfer class that already includes Ohio State transfer center Felix Okpara and Hofstra transfer forward Darlinstone Dubar.
Rick Barnes and the Volunteers appear to be reloading the roster for another deep NCAA Tournament. The Vols lost key players from last season's team in Santiago Vescovi, Josiah-Jordan James, Dalton Knecht, Jonas Aidoo (transfer), and Tobe Awaka (transfer). That's a lot of lost production (especially Knecht), but Barnes and his staff have done a great job so far of landing some talented players in the portal.
Landing Lanier would put this transfer class over the top for Tennessee.
