A former Tennessee Vols standout lands with the Dallas Cowboys in the latest 2024 NFL mock draft from The Athletic's Dane Brugler.

Brugler, one of the more well-respected voices among NFL draft analysts, has the Cowboys selecting Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright with the No. 87 overall pick (Round Three) in this year's draft.

The Cowboys lost running back Tony Pollard to the Tennessee Titans in free agency this offseason, so it makes sense that they could target a running back in the middle rounds of the draft.

Wright, who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft after his junior season at Tennessee, is coming off the best year of his college career. The Durham, NC native rushed for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in 2023 while averaging 7.4 yards per carry.

Brugler also has a couple of other former Vols getting selected in his new mock draft. He has the Atlanta Falcons drafting quarterback Joe Milton with the No. 197 overall pick (Round Six). Brugler has cornerback Kamal Hadden getting selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the No. 251 overall pick (Round Seven).

The 2024 NFL Draft will get underway on April 25 in Detroit.
