The Tennessee Vols have emerged as a legitimate threat to flip a longtime 2025 four-star Georgia Bulldogs commit.
2025 four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte has been committed to Georgia since December 2022.
Perlotte, 6-foot-3/210 lbs from Buford, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 14 linebacker in the nation and the No. 15 player in the state of Georgia. He's also rated as the No. 105 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.
On3's Steve Wiltfong noted on Monday that Tennessee is the "biggest threat" to flip Perlotte.
"A lot of teams have trended as the one to watch regarding a flip since from Florida State and Auburn to a little bit of Alabama," pointed out Wiltfong. "Now Tennessee can be viewed as the biggest threat. Perlotte is expected back in Athens next weekend and Georgia has put out every fire to date on this one."
Perlotte took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend. And it's no surprise that the Vols made a big impression on Perlotte considering how many elite recruits were on campus at UT this past weekend for official visits (including five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr and five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench).
"They're probably one of the schools recruiting me the hardest. Coach [Josh] Heupel calls me constantly," said Perlotte to 247Sports ahead of his official visit to Tenenssee. "All them coaches, I'm talking every day, multiple times. I've been up there two times, and we're real good. I love it."
It's always tough to flip an in-state player from Georgia, but it sounds like the Vols have put themselves in a good position to potentially steal a key recruit from the Bulldogs.
