The Tennessee Vols are reportedly in the mix for a 2027 five-star recruit from Georgia.

According to Rivals.com's Adam Gorney, Tennessee is "high" on the list for 2027 five-star defensive end LaDamion Guyton.

Guyton, 6-foot-3/210 lbs from Savannah, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia. He's also rated as the No. 2 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

Gorney pointed out that Georgia is currently viewed as the favorite for Guyton while also noting that the five-star edge rusher could be open to leaving the state.

"The Bulldogs are definitely one of the early front-runners for the No. 1 player in the 2027 class but Alabama, South Carolina, USC and Tennessee are also high and the word is Guyton is not against leaving the state to play," wrote Gorney

Tennessee's starting to have some recruiting success in the state of Georgia (the Vols landed five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews over Georgia during the 2024 recruiting cycle), but the Bulldogs still run the state. Landing a five-star edge rusher from Georgia over UGA is no easy task.

But the Vols will certainly swing big here. And they have a couple of years to convince Guyton that Tennessee is his best option.
