Tennessee Vols starting quarterback Hendon Hooker left UT's loss to Ole Miss on Saturday in the game's final moments due to a leg injury.

Hooker, who was replaced by Joe Milton, wasn't able to put any weight on his leg after getting tackled by an Ole Miss defender.

On Monday, Heupel told reporters that he considers Hooker "day-to-day". He also added that he doesn't think Hooker is dealing with a long-term injury.

Tennessee's offense runs much more efficiently with Hooker under center.

It might not be a bad idea for Heupel to sit Hooker this weekend against Alabama regardless of how he's feeling. It's more important for Tennessee to have Hooker against Kentucky and Georgia later this season than it is to have him against Alabama. This is a game I don't see the Vols winning — even if they have a healthy Hendon Hooker.

I'm not saying the Vols should "punt" this game. I'm just saying they need to make sure Hooker is healthy for the final month of the season.

The goal is to get to 6-6. Beating Alabama just isn't realistic at this point for the Vols.
