Well that didn't take long.

2025 four-star offensive lineman Douglas Utu committed to the Tennessee Vols on Monday just a day after On3's Steve Wiltfong predicted that UT would land the talented recruit.

Utu, who took an official visit to UT this past weekend, announced his commitment to Tennessee on Monday morning via a clever post on Twitter/X.com.

"Proud to be announcing that I will be committing my craft and talents to the University of Tennessee! You can’t spell UTU without UT! Go Vols," tweeted Utu.

The "You can't spell UTU without UT" line should get a smile from former Florida Gators/South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier, who famously said "You can't spell Citrus without UT" in the 90s.

Utu, 6-foot-4/317 lbs from Las Vegas, NV, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Nevada. He's also rated as the No. 67 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Scouting report via 247Sports: Utu is one of the more accomplished high school lineman in the ’25 class. He’ll be a four-year starter for one of the nation’s top high school programs and has played both guard and tackle for the Gaels. He looks like a prototype right tackle at the next level although he could easily slide inside and play guard as well if needed. He does have tackle feet and a prototype frame, pushing 6-6 and 300 pounds with plenty of length. He’s technically sound with good feet and balance, moves well laterally and is equally strong as a run blocker and pass protector. He’s a physical player, strong at the point of attack and is a finisher. He’s a natural bender with a strong punch. He has the quickness to recover against speed rushers and the strength to hold his ground against the bull rushers. He’s plenty aggressive as well and has the nastiness needed to excel in the trenches. He has the talent to play for any program in the country and has a definite NFL upside to him as well.

Tennessee now has 14 players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation.

Utu is the Vols' second highest-rated 2025 commit (per 247Sports) behind five-star Tennessee quarterback commit George MacIntyre.
