National media outlet says one Tennessee Vols game will have most intimidating environment in 2023
The Tennessee Vols are looking to prove this upcoming season that their 11-2 record in 2022 wasn’t a fluke
The Tennessee Vols provided some of the most electric atmospheres in college football in 2022.
Neyland's atmosphere was incredible for Tennessee's wins against Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky.
The crowd at Neyland is always rocking, but there's nothing that compares to it when the Vols are among the top teams in the nation.
The energy at Neyland should be just as impressive in 2023 as Tennessee looks to prove that their 11-2 season in 2022 wasn't a fluke.
247Sports, in fact, believes that one Vols home game will provide college football's most intimidating atmosphere in 2023.
The national sports media outlet recently named the top 11 atmospheres that they expect to be the most intimidating in 2023 and they listed Tennessee's home against Georgia on November 18 at No. 1.
From 247Sports: You couldn't hear yourself speak inside Neyland Stadium twice last season during Tennessee's wins over Alabama and Kentucky, two sellouts the created some of the rowdiest atmospheres ever in Knoxville. That's going to happen again in 2023 when two-time defending national champion Georgia plays Tennessee. Tennessee will try and end this program's reign atop college football in the SEC finale. Georgia should carry the nation's longest winning streak into Neyland Stadium for this one.
In a perfect world for Tennessee, the matchup against Georgia in late November will determine the winner of the SEC East.
But for that to happen, the Vols will likely need to take care of business earlier in the season against Florida and Alabama. Neither of those games will be easy as they're both on the road (247Sports listed the Vols' game against Florida in the Swamp as the sixth-most intimidating environment in 2023).
We don't know how high the stakes will be for Tennessee's game against Georgia in Knoxville in 2023, but we know that Neyland will be absolutely wild for that one.
