The Tennessee Vols are one of four programs still in the mix to land 2026 four-star linebacker TJ White.

White, 6-foot-2/220 lbs from Jackson, MS, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 19 linebacker in the nation and the No. 10 player in the state of Mississippi.

According to On3, White is set to take official visits this spring/summer to Wisconsin, Florida State, Tennessee, and Mississippi State.

“These four schools are in that top group,” said White to On3.

Mississippi State is pushing hard to keep White from leaving the state.

Tennessee's strong family culture under head coach Josh Heupel, however, could be too much for the Bulldogs (and White's other top schools) to overcome.

"I want to have a really good relationship," said White to 247Sports earlier this month. "I want to be treated like family and for my family to be treated like family."

White doesn't plan to commit until near the end of his senior season of high school football (he also plans to sign during the early signing period in December), so there's still plenty of time for some twists and turns in this recruiting battle. Official visits will obviously be key in determining who ends up landing White.

Tennessee currently has seven players committed to its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 6 in the nation.
