Chicks dig the fur coat. That's the case for the Tennessee Vols on the diamond this season, at least. The team's ceremonial award for hitting a home run is a national spectacle. That's for good reason, too, because the Vols are mashing the baseball at an unreal level.

Of course, they lead the SEC in homers, but it goes deeper than that. They currently have 87 dingers so far this season. The only team within twenty long balls of the Vols is Florida with 68. Mississippi State is in third with 65 homers. That's not even the most mind-boggling aspect of the Vols' offensive output, either.

Tennessee has at least twice the number of home runs as eight teams in the SEC. That's over half of the conference that the Vols have doubled up on dingers so far this season. Just unreal production throughout the lineup. Also, keep in mind that the Vols had one of the better offenses in the SEC last season. They finished the season with 98 homers. They will easily clear that this year.

In 2022, Tennessee has eight players with 7 or more home runs so far this season. Accordingly, they'll probably finish the season with at least eight guys in double digits for homers. Trey Lipscomb may even eclipse twenty as he currently sits at fifteen. Jordan Beck and Luc Lipcius both already have ten as well. Don't be shocked if either of them flirts with twenty long balls by the end of the postseason.

The offense for the Vols is at a ridiculous pace for homers in the SEC, and they don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Some folks say you can't ride the long ball through the College World Series in Omaha. Although, when you're hitting this many home runs, you may be able to change that narrative.
