The Tennessee Vols are expected to make a big move in the new AP Top 25 poll on Sunday, even though UT didn’t play this past weekend.

Tennessee had a bye this week after its overtime win in Starkville against Mississippi State.

The Vols will return to action this week in a home matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Tennessee Vols expected to climb a few spots in the new AP Top 25 poll

Tennessee is poised to climb a few spots in the AP Top 25 poll this week thanks to a couple of upsets.

UCLA knocked off Penn State, Florida took down Texas, and Iowa State lost to Cincinnati on Saturday (each of those teams was ranked ahead of the Volunteers last week).

Sports Illustrated, On3, and CBS Sports all have the Vols moving up to No. 12 in the new AP Top 25 poll.

It would be a big surprise if this doesn’t end up being the case for the Vols. I’m sure there will still be some voters who have the Vols ranked outside the top 15 for whatever reason, but it seems impossible for the majority of voters to keep Penn State, Texas, or Iowa State ahead of Tennessee.

The new AP Top 25 poll will be released on Sunday afternoon.
