One of the biggest debates when it comes to the 2023 NFL Draft is where Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker should be selected.

The Greensboro, NC native had a magical season for the Vols in 2022 up until a nightmarish ending.

Hooker tore his ACL in the penultimate game of the regular season, ending his collegiate career.

Due to the torn ACL, Hooker hasn't been able to go through full on-field workouts during the pre-draft process, which has prevented him from showing off his physical skills and possibly boosting his draft stock.

Despite the ACL injury, NFL scouts seemingly love Hooker. While the former Vol has dealt with some criticism from analysts, most comments from NFL front offices and coaches have been extremely positive.

In fact, a scout told The Score's Jordan Schultz this week that he thinks Hooker could start as a rookie in 2023.

The scout also said he doesn't see how Hooker makes it out of the first round.

"I don't know how he gets out of the first round," said the scout to Schultz. "He'll come in and compete right away. He's refined. He's accurate. He's been in two programs built on winning. He could wind up starting as a rookie."

The hype for Hooker is starting to build over the last few weeks. That doesn't mean that Hooker will for sure be drafted in the first round, but it's starting to feel like more of a possibility than it did a couple of months ago.
