One of the Tennessee Vols' 2026 recruiting targets may have revealed the game time for an important late-season matchup this week.
2026 four-star cornerback Preston Ashley told On3 that he plans to visit Tennessee in early November for the Vols' home game against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Ashley mentioned that he thinks the Tennessee vs Kentucky game is supposed to be played at night.
“I can’t wait to get to Knoxville," said Ashley. "I have never been there and the Kentucky game is supposed to be at night, so it will be exciting. Their coaches hit me up every day and Tennessee is really making a big push, so I want to get out there to see what it is like.”
A game time hasn't been announced yet for the Kentucky vs Tennessee game, but a prime time matchup would make sense. Florida vs Georgia is already set for a 3:30 PM ET on November 2. Other SEC matchups aside from Kentucky vs Tennessee that could be in the prime time slot on that Saturday include Texas A&M vs South Carolina and Ole Miss vs Arkansas.
If Tennessee vs Kentucky does end up being a night game, it would make sense for the Vols to wear their "dark mode" jerseys just as they did two seasons ago against the Wildcats.
