The Tennessee Vols are one of the early teams to beat for an elite 2026 pass rusher from the west coast.

2026 four-star pass rusher Shaun Scott recently visited Tennessee and he told Rivals.com that "everything" stood out during the visit. Scott also noted that he loved the fans at Tennessee.

From Rivals.com: “Everything” stood out to the 2026 four-star linebacker/edge rusher on his Tennessee visit as the Volunteers remain one of the standouts early in his recruitment. Ohio State and UCLA are the two others to watch now in his recruitment along with Tennessee as the Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei standout loved the fans in Knoxville and especially the coaches as he met with all of them on the defensive side of the ball.

Scott, 6-foot-3/230 lbs from Santa Ana, CA, is rated by Rivals as the No. 9 player in the state of California and the No. 5 outside linebacker in the nation. He's also rated as the No. 55 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, which means he isn't far away from being a five-star recruit (and he could be by the time 2026 rolls around).

Scouting report via 247Sports: Scott is one of the best pure pass rushers in the region right now, regardless of class. He has a really nice all around game and is more than just a pass rush specialist, he can play in space, drop and is strong in the run game as well. He has a well built 6-3, 230 frame and looks like he's not done growing yet. Shows natural pass rush ability who can win with speed, power and has a very good spin move he uses often. Finished with 19 tackles and eight sacks as a part time starter last season and could double those numbers as a junior. He can play a physical game and shows the athleticism to run down plays from outside his area. With his growth potential an ability to get to the QB, we can see him moving to edge full time and his upside is very high. Projects as a high Power 4 prospect with NFL upside to him.

Scott attends the same high school (Mater Dei) that current Tennessee wide receiver Bru McCoy attended.

There's obviously still a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but the Vols are very much in the mix for the talented edge rusher.

Edge rusher, by the way, is a position where the Vols are starting to make some serious noise.
