The Tennessee Vols and the Texas A&M Aggies will meet on Saturday night for game one of a best-of-three series in the 2024 College World Series finals in Omaha.

Tennessee and Texas A&M have been two of the best teams in the nation for most of the season, so it's not a surprise to see either reach the College World Series finals.

Ahead of the start of the series between the Vols and the Aggies, 14 anonymous SEC coaches (head coaches and assistant coaches) spoke with Baseball America about the finals while making some predictions.

12 of the 14 coaches that spoke with Baseball America picked Tennessee to beat Texas A&M.

“Basically, came down to two of the three best teams all season,” said one coach to Baseball America. “So evenly matched it feels like a toss-up. A&M hasn’t lost a postseason game, I think they’re about to lose two.”

“Tennessee needs its pitching to hold up,” said another coach. “If it does, they dogpile. If not, they don’t.”

While the majority of the coaches that Baseball America spoke with believe the Volunteers are going to win it all in Omaha, at least one coach hopes both teams find a way to lose the series.

“I would prefer both teams to lose,” said a coach who picked Tennessee to win.

Tennessee and Texas A&M will take the field at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday evening. The game will air on ESPN.
