A to Z Sports' Travis May released his early three-round 2025 NFL mock draft on Monday and, unsurprisingly, he has Tennessee Vols edge rusher James Pearce going to the Carolina Panthers with the No. 1 overall selection.
Pearce, who is from Charlotte and would probably love staying at home to play for the Panthers, isn't the only Vol that May has getting selected in the first three rounds of next year's draft.
May has Tennessee wide receiver Squirrel White going to the New York Jets with the No. 84 overall pick (round three).
White will be a junior this fall, which means May thinks he could declare for the draft after the 2024 season.
White is a former three-star recruit who signed with Tennessee during the 2022 recruiting cycle.
The Alabama native is only 5-foot-10/165 lbs, but he plays much bigger. White isn't afraid to be physical in the blocking game. And he can break more tackles than you'd expect for a wide receiver with a slight frame.
White also provides plenty of speed which allows him to stretch the field vertically against essentially any defender.
As a true freshman, White caught 30 passes for 481 yards and two touchdowns.
This past season, White nearly doubled his production, catching 67 passes for 803 yards and two touchdowns.
With former five-star recruit Nico Iamaleava set to start at quarterback for the Vols this fall, White is poised to have a breakout season that should lead to plenty of NFL Draft speculation.
