Tennessee Vols fans and USA Today college football writer/reporter/columnist Dan Wolken don't exactly have the best relationship.

Vols fans and Wolken have gone back and forth at times over the years thanks mostly to some wild Tennessee coaching searches. Wolken's involvement in Tennessee's 2017 coaching search, for example, didn't sit well with Vols fans.

Tennessee fans, however, will love Wolken's take on the Vols and the upcoming 12-team College Football Playoff.

After Georgia beat Texas in overtime in the SEC Championship game on Saturday night, Wolken tweeted that he feels like Tennessee is "probably" the SEC's best chance to win a national championship this season.

Tennessee is playing its best football of the season at the right time, and outside of maybe Oregon, a team that hasn't matched up against an SEC team this season, there isn't an overwhelming favorite to win it all.

So sure, the Vols certainly have a chance to win a national championship this season. But so do 11 other teams. Tennessee will have to play its four best games of the season if they're going to bring a championship back to Rocky Top in January.
