The 2023 MLB Draft saw plenty of Tennessee Volunteers chosen. That group was headlined by first-rounder Chase Dollander. That being said, one Vols talent surprisingly did not get selected in the draft. Zane Denton didn't get the call for a professional opportunity during any of the three days of the draft process.

Many expected him to go on day three, but it never happened. That could be partly because Denton is looking to improve his draft stock with another season at Tennessee. He may have lacked interest in being taken on day three, looking to earn more money in the draft next year if he gets taken earlier. That's all speculation, though. His most recent tweet is no speculation, though.

This could mean many things. He could be wondering why he didn't get picked during the draft, or he could be weighing the idea of returning to the Vols for one final season next year. He is eligible and would provide a spark in the middle of their lineup once again.

The Vols lost infielder Maui Ahuna to the draft, and Jared Dickey and Ryan Galanie were also selected. It is unknown whether or not the latter two will sign with their orgs. If they don't return to Tennessee, a return for Denton would only become even more paramount. This situation is one to watch in the coming days/weeks for Vols fans.
