The Tennessee Vols are reportedly the favorites to land one of the top 2024 players in the state of Tennessee.

2024 four-star athlete Boo Carter is one of the Vols' top in-state recruiting targets.

Carter, 5-foot-10/184 lbs from Chattanooga, TN, is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 20 athlete in the nation.

On3's director of recruiting Chad Simmons recently placed his prediction for Tennessee to land Carter.

Simmons' pick likely has a lot to do with what a source told On3 recently in regard to Carter's recruitment.

From On3: “Boo’s bond with Tennessee is just on another level.” That comfortability, Tennessee being close to home, the opportunity he sees to make an impact early and the direction of the program in Knoxville has me confident enough to say the Vols are the favorite to land Carter.”

Carter is expected to announce his commitment before the start of his senior season of high school football begins this fall.

Tennessee currently has six players committed to their 2024 recruiting class which is ranked No. 7 in the nation.
