ESPN thinks a Tennessee Vols basketball player will be a first round selection in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The national sports media outlet revealed their early 2024 NBA mock draft this past weekend and they have Tennessee true freshman guard Freddie Dilione going to the Boston Celtics with the No. 24 overall selection.

Dilione, 6-foot-5/180 lbs from Fayetteville, NC, enrolled at UT in January and redshirted while practicing with the Tennessee basketball team.

The North Carolina native was rated as a four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. 247Sports rated Dilione as the No. 7 combo guard in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina.

Interestingly, Dilione was the only Tennessee player that ESPN listed in their 2024 NBA mock draft. That means they don't see Vols guard Santiago Vescovi as a likely draft pick next summer, despite the fact that Vescovi has a legitimate chance to break Allan Houston's record for the most career 3-pointers made at Tennessee (Houston has the school record with 346 and Vescovi currently has 282).

Guard Keon Johnson was the last Tennessee player to be selected in the first round of the NBA draft. Johnson was the No. 21 overall pick (by the New York Knicks) in the 2021 NBA Draft.
