Tennessee Vols right handed pitcher Chase Burns is making quite the name for himself during post-season play.
Burns became a bit of a national sensation during the Super Regionals after showing plenty of emotion during the Vols' Game 3 win against Southern Mississippi.
Burns added another chapter to his story on Monday by throwing six scoreless innings against Stanford to help the Vols stay alive in the College World Series.
The sophomore from Gallatin, TN used his fastball and a devastating slider to keep Stanford's hitters off balance.
At one point during the Vols' win against Stanford, an umpire camera showed what it's like to stand in the box and face Burns' 101 MPH fastball.
Suffice it to say, it doesn't look fun.
If a hitter wants to sit on Burns' slider, that doesn't look fun either.
To a hitter, that ball looks like a strike until it takes a hard left turn out of the strike zone just before it reaches the plate.
If Burns is executing his pitches like he was against Stanford and Southern Miss, he's going to be hard to beat.
The former starter has turned into quite the weapon for Tennessee. And he's a key reason why the Vols' season is still alive.
