The Tennessee Titans earned the AFC's No. 1 seed in 2021 after overcoming numerous obstacles throughout the season. But according to Vegas, the road to the Super Bowl is shaping up to be much tougher in 2022.
Per BetMGM Tennessee, the Titans are tied with the New England Patriots for the 11th-best odds to win Super Bowl LVII. The line is currently +2200 and the odds represent a $2,200 payout if the Titans win it all in 2022.
The Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills are all considered to have a better shot at winning next year's Lombardi. A lot of those teams make sense. But seeing teams like the Broncos and even the Cardinals ahead of the Titans is a bit of a surprise.
What's even more surprising is the fact that the Titans would barely make the playoffs as the AFC's No. 7 seed if the postseason reflected the order of BetMGM's odds. That's quite the fall from grace after rising to the top of the AFC during the 2021 regular season.
DraftKings Sportsbook has the Titans' odds at +2200, but the Titans are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 10th instead of 11th. The Titans would claim the AFC's No. 6 seed if the playoffs were to reflect DraftKings' current odds.
Right now, Tennessee is a little more than $6 million over the cap and has some key free agents to re-sign. What's odd is that the Cowboys are in far worse shape cap-wise and have key free agents to re-sign, themselves. Therefore, it's fair to wonder how they landed the better odds. However, when you consider the difference in play between Ryan Tannehill and Dak Prescott, it does makes more sense to make Dallas the favorite of the two.
